THE EXHIBITION
The exhibition is for miniaturists of all skill levels and we particularly welcome and encourage the participation of newcomers and juniors. The exhibition falls into three
levels:
Junior, Standard and Advanced. The Junior and Standard levels are all-inclusive and will include figures, armor, vignettes and dioramas. The Advanced level is separated into four Divisions: Painters Division/ Figures, Painters Division/ Ordnance, Open Division/ Figures and Open Division/ Ordnance. Open Divisions are for converted and scratch-built subjects as well as dioramas and vignettes. All other Advanced level entries should be placed in the Painters Division.
The Exhibits are judged using an open system with a variable number of Gold, Silver and Bronze Medals. Although awards are presented, there is not direct competition and MFCA maintains that the show is primarily an exhibit of modeler's art, with no winners or losers. All exhibits in a specific level are reviewed on an equal basis and those pieces which employ outstanding examples of artistic merit and craftsmanship
are awarded.
THE JUNIOR LEVEL
The Junior Level is intended for artists 16 years or younger.
THE STANDARD LEVEL
The Standard Level is for all artists with varying degrees of modeling skills who prefer not to exhibit
in the advanced level.
THE ADVANCED LEVEL
The Advanced Level is intended for artists with progressive modeling skills. It is open to all artists however, it typically consists of world masters and professionals.
Note: If an exhibit was created by more than one artist, all the names that contributed to that piece must be appropriately identified on the entry form so that proper recognition can be given.
Exhibits which have won awards at previous MFCA shows are ineligible for awards of any kind.
